How to Take a Manual Blood Pressure

We are blessed as nurses to have machines that take constant blood pressure for us. It makes our job easier, and gives us more time to concentrate on other patient needs. However, equipment does fail and you need to get a manual blood pressure. A manual blood pressure is sometime more accurate than an automatic one.

I have made a video on how to take a blood pressure manually. In the video, I talk about the steps on how to take a blood pressure with a manual cuff, how to use the manual cuff, and demonstrate the clinical skills on how to take a blood pressure on a patient.

Learn How to Interpret EKGs, Measure PR Interval, QRS Complex and MORE!!

EKGs can be difficult to learn at first, especially when you are new to the medical/nursing field. I know when I was in nursing school, I had a hard time learning the PQRST and how to tell if the rhythm was a-fib, a-flutter, v-tach etc. BUT after nursing school I chose to enter the cardiac field and this required that I learned every single rhythm thoroughly.

I have created a tutorial series on how to tell the difference between heart rhythms, how to measure the PR interval, how to count the heart rate on an EKG, how to measure the QRS complex, and more.

You can see the videos below:
